You’re invited to audition for Peter Pan at The Cresset

Do you want to take your first flight into performing on the stage? Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough! Peterborough’s Cresset Theatre and Second Star Productions are looking for talented young people to join the cast of its 2026 pantomime: Peter Pan.

“We’re seeking enthusiastic performers, aged 9+ years old, to bring this beloved story to life on stage,” says Monique Benoiton-Smith, Performing Arts Officer at The Cresset. “We are excited to discover the amazing local people who will have the chance to shine in front of Peterborough audiences whilst performing alongside a professional cast. We’d love for you to come and show us your talent!”

Due to the popularity of taking part in the show, interested applicants are advised to register for auditions early on the website at www.cresset.co.uk/shows/peter-pan-open-auditions. The auditions will take place on Sunday 6th September. Signing up in advance is essential.

Applicants don’t need to prepare anything ahead of the auditions. Instead, they will be taught a short dance to perform in small groups on the day. Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear. Under 16s must attend the auditions accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult chaperone.

On audition day, attendees will be divided into two age categories. From 10am-12.30pm, try-outs for the Lost Kids will take place. Here, the production is looking for children aged 9-11 years old, who have good dancing and acting abilities. From 1.30pm-4pm, it’s time for the 12+ auditions for the senior dance ensemble: Tiger’s Gang, Pirates, and understudy roles. For this category, the team is seeking excellent dancing skills and strong stage presence.

This year’s magical pantomime, Peter Pan, runs from 12th – 31st December 2026. Rehearsals will take place on Sundays from late October until the opening of the show. There will also be additional rehearsals closer to the grand opening. This means applicants will need to be able to commit to the full run and rehearsal period, and time off school will be necessary for school performances.
