Meet our Musical Theatre Classes Teacher!

Starting Monday 24th April, Cresset Arts & Theatre School are running their fantastic Musical Theatre Classes & we’d love to introduce you to the lovely Kirstie who will be running these sessions!

Kirstie developed a love for performing at a very young and age when she first performed as Mr Tumnus in her local theatre group’s yearly performance of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Since then, she has become increasingly passionate about Performing Arts for children and young people. Kirstie was awarded a triple distinction in a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) which she studied at Wildcats Academy in Stamford (now known as Eastern School of Performing Arts,) as well as a distinction in Grade 7 and Grade 8 LAMDA Musical theatre exams.

She has performed in countless shows including Sunday Night Live – Her Majesty’s Theatre, Sunday Night Live- Indig02, VocalFX- Her Majesty’s Theatre as well as being cast in roles such as Frenchie in Grease, Joanne in Rent and IIse in Spring Awakening during her musical theatre education.

Kirstie has experience teaching musical theatre classes through her previous work with Wildcats Theatre School, where she led weekly musical theatre classes to a variety of ages as well school holiday workshops. She has also delivered similar sessions with local performing arts group Emcee Productions. As well as this, her passion for education and working with young people extended into her full time career in mainstream education.

Kirstie is thrilled to be involved with C.A.T.S and is excited to not only pass on her passion and skills to more young, talented people in the Peterborough area but to provide them with performance opportunities to ignite their excitement for the theatre.

C.A.T.S musical theatre classes will offer an enjoyable way to learn performing arts skills such as Singing, Acting and Dancing to children of all abilities. Not only will the classes support the development of performance skills, they will also aid in growing other skills such as team work, public speaking, self-esteem and self-confidence. Classes will include learning a variety of songs and dances as well as performing scenes from a variety of musicals, plays and films with the aim to showcase what we have learned at the end of the term to our family and friends.

Sign ups for both Junior & Senior classes are STILL open but filling up fast – You can find out more information about the classes & how to sign up here: https://www.cresset.co.uk/performing-arts/cats-musical-theatre-classes/
