Great comedy coming to The Cresset – full April line-up!

We’re always good for a laugh here at The Cresset, but April 2022 is set to be a real treat for those looking for a giggle and a good time as we’ve got a packed out month of comedy gold!

First up on April 2nd & 3rd is a double bill of sold out shows from Sarah Millican, who we can’t wait to welcome back to The Cresset. Her shows are always a treat and her latest tour, Bobby Dazzler, is no different! In this, her sixth international tour, you’ll learn about what happens when your mouth seals shut, how to throw poo over a wall, trying to lose weight but only losing the tip of your finger, a surprisingly funny smear test, and how truly awful a flotation tank can actually be.

Then on 8th April we’ve got Omid Djalili, back on stage where he belongs and bringing the good times with his brand new tour! Intelligent, provocative and always entertaining, Omid’s legendary stand-up performances are a captivating comedy masterclass – but you might also recognise him from ITV quiz show The Winning Combination, BBC1 / HBO show His Dark Materials or even from the smash-hit film Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

Arriving on 13th April is Reginald D. Hunter. Unafraid to tackle head on the subjects the rest of us skirt around, Reginald is the voice of his generation – searingly honest, brutally funny and uniquely placed to commentate on the unfolding meltdown of life as we know it. In his new tour, Bombe Shuffleur, there’s no time for niceties.

We’ve got another sold out show on 14th April, as Jimmy Carr returns with another instalment of his Terribly Funny tour. Warning: contains jokes about terrible things that may have affected you and your family, but according to Jimmy, having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo. Consider yourself warned!

Another show that’s selling fast is Jason Manford‘s new tour, Like Me. Jason also joined us last year, so if you missed out on tickets then, make sure you grab some now! Like Me is Jason’s latest comic offering set to hit the road, and is sure to be ‘expert observational comedy’ (The Guardian) mixed with ‘comic gold’ (Mail On Sunday). Don’t miss out – book now, show arrives 20th April!

As the dust settles and we emerge blinking into the dawn of a new year, the people of this great country will need answers. Answers that they know they need, answers to questions they never knew existed. And when that moment comes, who better to show the way, to provide those answers, than the people’s man of the people, the Pub Landlord? Yes, that’s right – Al Murray is here on 27th April for a socially distanced work event brand new comedy show, offering people thirsty for common sense a full pint of the good stuff.

Ending the month on a high (and hilarious) note is The Cresset’s very own Comedy Club on 29th April. Four up-and-coming comedians are given their time in the spotlight – make sure to keep an eye out on our socials for the line-up announcements!

As if all of that wasn’t enough to tickle your funny bone – we’ve also got Cruising Through Menopause on 6th April – in this hysterical sequel to one of our favourites, Menopause The Musical, we fast forward five years to catch up with the same four characters for tales of their lives, loves and losses as they set off on the high seas. Starring Crissy Rock (Benidorm), Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty), Nicki French (Eurovision) and Susie Fenwick (West End Star), it’s going to be a fantastically funny show! All aboard!

Last but certainly not least we’ve got a real treat on 21st April – the return of Adult Panto! This year’s production is Snow White & The Seven Drag Queens and if previous shows are anything to go by, you’re in for a deliciously naughty night out. Featuring an All Star International cast including Choriza May (Drag Race UK S3), Kennedy Davenport (Drag Race S7 and All Stars S3), Joey Jay (Drag Race S13) and Lemon (Canada’s Drag Race S1) – you won’t forget this fabulously filthy extravaganza, oh no you won’t!

You can browse all comedy shows here – we recommend booking early, as these shows are all either sold out or selling fast! If you’ve missed out this month, no worries – we’ve got tons more comedy coming later this year!
