Panto goes Online!

Beauty & The Beast is now available to stream at home

As this year’s Pantomime season nears its end, it’s been a busy month for The Cresset. Beauty & The Beast has been playing to live audiences since 11th December and has been a great success. The show stars First Dates’ Grant Urquhart as Silly Billy, and TV’s Kim Taylforth as the Good Fairy in the classic fairytale, with plenty of classic pantomime elements. The cast are supported by talented local dancers, who successfully auditioned in September and audiences have been enjoying lots of panto fun in the theatre.

However, we know there are many people who have been unable to attend the show in person due to covid cases or isolation requirements (boo!). And there are many groups and schools who took the decision not to attend this year in the run up to Christmas.

All is not lost though! We believe that nobody should miss out on the joy of panto, and have produced a full filmed version of the show, recorded on opening day, which can be watched online at home! Launched on Boxing Day, the stream is available to purchase and view until January 9th, and costs just £20!

Head of Cresset Commercial Activities, Penny Hansen said: “With the restrictions on live pantomime last year, we were thrilled with the success of our filmed version and it seemed like a good idea to do one this year as well, as we know many people have been unable to attend. Of course we always prefer people to see the show in person, but this is a fantastic option for those who can’t, so we hope it brings a bit of joy, particularly to those who may be ill or isolating.”

So with just three live performances left, you can book to see the show live before the final petal falls at cresset.co.uk/pantomime OR get the family together, put on your Christmas pyjamas, stock up on snacks and watch it at home by ordering a stream at https://bit.ly/beauty-and-the-beast-digital
