Announcing our Cinderella Cast!

The Cresset and Stuart Morrison’s Second Star Productions are delighted to present our pantomime for 2024 – Cinderella!

The most magical pantomime of them all, Cinderella will captivate the whole family. With sparkling sets and costumes, some tremendously ugly sisters and a sprinkling of magic, this classic fairytale will be given The Cresset pantomime treatment.

Expect singalong tunes, a star cast, talented young dancers, plenty of audience participation and of course, a really happy ending.

Headlining this year’s cast & returning to us is the fabulous Cheryl Fergison as the Fairy Godmother! Cheryl is probably best known as the much-loved long-running character of Heather Trott in Eastenders! Star of both stage and screen, she has appeared in numerous tv shows including Doctor Who, Little Britain, The IT Crowd and Casualty, and her theatre credits include Dance With Death, Menopause The Musical, Chicago, and of course, our very own Good Witch Glinda, last year in The Wizard Of Oz!

Making his Cresset debut, from Star Radio, we have Josh Lovatt as Dandini! Entertaining thousands on Star Drivetime, now he’s ready to entertain you at The Cresset (Oh yes, he is!) When he’s not guiding thousands home on-air, Josh is a DJ. Over the last 10+ years, he’s supported the likes of Example, Craig Charles, Professor Green and Lilly Allen, plus DJ sets at Cambridge Club Festival and Cream Anthems nights.

Playing Cinderella, we have the wonderful Vanessa Boland! Vanessa started her career right here at The Cresset 30 years ago in the children’s ensemble in Aladdin & has since returned playing Fairy Liquid in Jack & The Beanstalk & Carabosse in Beauty & The Beast! Other credits include Barbara Windsor in Be Back Soon, MTV The Hills, Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People & The Apprentice.

Cresset Panto Regulars will know him well – it’s George Dee as Prince Charming! George grew up in Peterborough & has been performing in Cresset Pantomimes for an incredible 17 years – including Beauty & The Beast, Cinderella, Robin Hood, Snow White, Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Peter Pan & The Wizard Of Oz! Other theatre credits include; Phil Davis in White Christmas, Mookie/Billy Idol in The Wedding Singer & Skater Dude in High School Musical!

As one of our Ugly Sisters, Bella – it’s the hilarious Richard Mann! Richard has been acting for over 25 years in film, TV & theatre, including playing Fleshcreep in The Cresset production of Jack & The Beanstalk in 2020. He also performs as Mick Jagger in The Rolling Stones Now. Richard is also an established voice artist having voiced hundreds of adverts, documentaries, audiobooks, explainers and computer games.

Joining our duo of Ugly Sisters, as Donna, he’s back again, it’s the fantastic Edward Simpson! This will be Edward’s THIRD Panto with us. Previous roles have included Major General Stanley in The Pirates Of Penzance, Dr John Dolittle in The Adventures and The Further Adventures of Doctor Dolittle, The Emperor in The Emperor’s New Clothes (don’t worry, he will be keeping his clothes on in this panto!) and Henry Clerval in a brand new musical version of Frankenstein.

Making his Cresset stage debut, we have the lovely Alex Saddiqi as the uplifting Buttons! Alex has been a part of many projects up & down the country including an array of shows with Proud and Loud in Manchester, and his first Panto last year as Idle Jack in Dick Whittington in Wales. Alex is also a writer and recently released his first book ‘Two Lonely Otters’.

And last but by no means least, as our dastardly Baron Hardup, we welcome back, Peter McCrohon! Peter is a Panto veteran, with this being his 25th Panto (7 being right here at The Cresset!) & his 7th version of Cinderella. Other credits include Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Old Shepherd in The Winters Tale & Mr Rand in the feature film Twenty Twenty Four.

We are so thrilled with the casting and cannot wait to see them in action this December!

We are also holding auditions for young performers to join our fabulous line-up onstage!
