Summer School 2011

Award winning Wildcats Theatre School are again offering their highly popular summer school programme, in partnership with The Cresset, Peterborough.  Two of the weeks culminates in a performance of a show and is a great way for children to build confidence and self-esteem, develop skills in musical theatre and have lots of fun!  The final week is a mix of one day workshops delivered in partnership with Pineapple Performing Arts School (PPAS).  Each day of summer school is  09.15am – 4.30pm and suitable for ages 6-16 (age 5 for Wildcat students who attend classes).  Cost: £100 per week to include a Wildcats summer school T Shirt.  Breakfast club is also available from 08.00am each week. (£25 extra)

The Jungle Book

The jungle is jumpin’ with jazz is this exciting Disney classic! Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures and thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan. Specially adapted from the beloved film, this musical includes all your favorite Disney tunes, like “The Bare Necessities,” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.” With colourful characters and that toe-tapping jungle rhythm, The Jungle Book KIDS is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for audiences of all ages. The mini showcase is performed on the Friday at 3.00pm.  Tickets to the show are £2.50 each and available during summer school.

8^th August – 12^th August

Aladdin

Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! All of your favourite characters are here in this stage adaptation of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course, the Genie. Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, audiences’ spirits will soar with excitement. Most of all, the tuneful, Academy award-winning score with songs including A Whole New World and Friend Like Me will certainly make this musical a favourite for many years to come! The mini showcase is performed on the Friday at 3.00pm.  Tickets to the show are £2.50 each and available during summer school.

West End Superstars Week

These days are delivered in partnership with Pineapple Performing Arts School and enable us to bring the talent and skills of their tutors to Peterborough.  Every day is run by professional tutors supported by Wildcats staff and are suitable for children aged 5-15 years.  Each day runs from 09.00am – 4.00pm and costs £23.00.

Monday 15th August – Wildcats UK and Pineapple Performing Arts School present:  Hip Hop Dance Day

Winston Jean-Charles, owner of Nu Flo Dance Co and Pineapple Dance Studios tutor will be spending the day working with children aged 6-16 years on developing routines taught at the world famous Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.  Learn different styles and techniques of hip hop dance including popping, locking, break dancing and lyrical hip-hop.

Tuesday 16^th August – Wildcats UK and Pineapple Performing Arts School present:  Lion King Master-class featuring a cast member from the West End show

Pineapple Performing Arts School will be providing a cast member to run this one day workshop.  Come and learn choreography, singing and drama from the hit musical ‘Lion King’ featuring songs such as ‘I just cant wait to be king, ‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘He lives in you’.

Wednesday 17^th August – Wildcats UK and Pineapple Performing Arts School present:  ‘Jazz it up’ – Commercial Jazz Master-class

Pineapple Performing Arts School will be providing a professional tutor for this day.  Come and learn all the move that make up Jazz and dance the day away!

Thursday 18^th August – Wildcats UK present:  Musical Madness featuring Annie, Wicked and Shrek.

Come and spend the day learning the routines that the West End Wildcats performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End in January.  Use our costumes to dress up as the characters and put on a mini show for the parents too.

Friday 18^th August – Wildcats UK present:  So you think you can dance?

A day of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Musical Theatre.  You have a 50 minute class in each style of dance to learn a mini routine – these routines will then be added together to form a mini performance piece at the end of the day which will be filmed for our youtube channel.
