Weddings at The Cresset
The Cresset Events Team will make your wedding day truly memorable, and as formal or informal as you would like. We aim to take away your worries to allow you to really enjoy your special day. One of our managers will be with you from the moment you arrive, until you and your guests depart.

Your Reception If you wish to arrange your own band or disco we would be happy to accommodate them. However we would be delighted to recommend companies who we work with on a regular basis. We can also advise on photographers, florists, video services, cars, live entertainment and any other service you require.

Arrival You will be greeted upon arrival by the Banqueting Manger on duty and taken to your own private function room, your photographs with the cake will be taken. The formal "cutting of the cake" happens later.
Receiving Your Guests Our Banqueting Manager will, in conjunction with the Best Man, arrange your receiving line to greet your guests. This normally comprises the Bride's Mother, Bride's Father, The Bride, The Groom, Groom's Mother, Groom's Father and The Best Man. Your guests will be requested to be received by the Bridal Party formally. Your Bridesmaids can be added to the receiving line after the Best Man if required.
Wedding Breakfast
The guests will be requested to take their seats at the Wedding Breakfast. When everyone has done so the Bride and Groom will be announced and escorted to their seats.
Table Top Seating Plan
This normally comprises the Best Man, Chief Bridesmaid, Groom's Father, Bride's Mother, The Groom, The Bride, Bride's Father, Groom's Mother, Bridesmaid. Guests of Honour may sit at the Top table if desired.
Cutting The Cake
After the main course has been cleared, our Banqueting Manager or the Best Man will invite the Bride and Groom to cut the cake. At this stage, guests will be requested, if they wish, to take photographs. The bottom tier will be removed for cutting and your guests served with dessert, followed by coffee, wedding cake and wine for the toast.
Speeches
Our Banqueting Manager will call upon the Bride's Father to start the speeches.
Bride's Father
Amusing stories of the Bride. An account of the meeting of the Bride and Groom. Proposes a toast to the Bride and Groom's future happiness.
The Groom
Thanks the Bride's parents and his own parents. Thanks the guests for attending and for their generous gifts and propose a toast to the Bridesmaids.
Best Man
Replies on behalf of the Bridesmaids, talks briefly about the Bride and Groom and reads selected telegrams or cards from relatives or friends not present.
Evening Party To extend the wedding day into the evening, you may invite additional guests to a less formal party. We recommend that you offer them a buffet menu for these celebrations.
