JOB DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
Responsible to the Technical Manager
- To provide first class technical service for The Cresset supporting concerts, events, seminars and exhibitions in conjunction with the Technical Manager.
1.2 Under the direction of the Technical Manager, responsibilities for customer care at all public events in any part of the building as required, by carrying out verbal/written instructions as necessary.
- Operation of The Cresset lighting, sound systems and Stage Management duties as required by hirers and touring companies to support events booked by The Cresset.
- In conjunction with the Technical Manager provide technical support to hirers visiting and companies requiring access to The Cressets technical equipment.
- To ensure the effective and efficient technical operations of shows and major events within The Cresset.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, public buildings, health & safety, licensing laws etc and report any failing to the Technical Manager immediately.
- Make recommendations for repair and maintenance of any Cresset equipment.
- Liase with the Technical Manager to ensure the smooth running of shows and events.
- Supervise all technical requirements from get in to breakdown of all concerts and major events in conjunction with the Technical Manager.
- Ensure that the load in/load out crew and stagehands are booked for work as necessary in conjunction with the Technical Manger.
- In conjunction with the Technical Manager, pre rig required technical equipment in time for hirers visiting and companies arrival.
- Assist with loading and unloading of equipment as and when required.
- Ensure all technical equipment is stored correctly..
- Assist in the maintenance department as necessary.
- Respond to all technical requirements to support major functions and catering requirements.
- Undertake special projects, as and when advised by the Technical Manager.
- Any other duties as specified by the Technical Manager or any other member of the Management team.
Because of the business requirements the post holder will be expected to work flexible working hours based on a minimum of 25 worked over 7 days to include evenings and weekend working as necessary depending on the programming of events.
The post holder should be mindful of the diversity and uniqueness of The Cresset (Peterborough) Ltd and the requirements of the trading company Cresset Leisure Services Ltd to be profitable and should be prepared to work at times to suit the trading company’s operation as necessary.
